A CELEBRATION OF ORGANIC FOOD AND FARMING

Friday March 25 - Sunday April 10, 2011

Awareness - raising events and promotions across the country.

An important part of planning your event is to decide who your event or activity is aimed at, and what you want to achieve from it.
For example:

  • An online retailer may run a competition to win an organic hamper, with the key objective of gaining customer details so that you can mail them a regular newsletter.
  • A box scheme may offer existing customers a discount when they sign up a friend as a new customer, in order to gain new customers.
  • A town fete may have the overall purpose of uniting local farms, shops and other organisations to benefit the community as a whole.
  • A producer with a farmers' market stall may run a free tasting to encourage new customers to try their products with the objective of finding new customers.

Whoever you are, taking the time to decide what you want to achieve will help you decide what type of activity you want to run - and afterwards it will be a positive boost for your business on a local community level as well as the organic market as a whole.
